Sin Is Not Good For Us

by | Feb 4, 2019 | Vital Life Application Devotions

Genesis 3:6 New International Version (NIV)

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Satan tried to make Eve think that sin was good for her. He tried to make sin seem pleasant and desirable. The knowledge of good and evil seemed harmless to Eve. The world gives us the impression on a daily basis that to choose wrong things is a good thing. It may make you feel good. It may give you a high. It may give you a moment of pleasure. Sin does not always appear ugly to us at first, and the pleasant sins are the hardest to avoid and get rid of. It is important to be prepared for the attractive temptations that may come your way. You cannot always prevent temptation, but you can escape. It is important that you get a plan in place for your life. It is important to use God’s Word and to read his Word daily. That will fortify you. It is also important to get people in place in your life to help you stand against the temptations that this world will throw at you and side swipe you with. If you fall down, you will have people around you to help you get back up, and you will have God’s Word inside you to help you fight back. Never give up and never surrender.
