42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
What happened on Saturday while Jesus was buried in the tomb? Was he in Hades or in Heaven. The Scriptures are silent on what actually happened. All we know for his last moments on earth is that he told the thief on the cross that today he would be with Jesus in paradise.
Paradise is Heaven. It is the home with the Father. The thief was sorrowful for his sins. He admitted them to Jesus an his final hours while hanging on a cross with Christ.
We do know that Jesus defeated death and rose from the grave 3 days later taking back the keys of death from the devil. Revelation 1:18 says, “I am the One. I died, but look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.”
It may have been quiet in Scripture on that Saturday, but our Lord was at work. Let’s not be silent in our testimonies of what he has done in changing our lives. We have the opportunity to live life in the fullest with Him!
