Judges 2:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel.
In Judges chapter 2:8, it says, “Joshua, son of Num, a servant of the Lord, died at the age of 110. I first have to ask the question, “What Happened? The following generation that takes the land that God promised them, failed.
Looking at Judges 2:11 gives us the answer. They did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord. The closest time in history where I experienced that was 9/11. The Twin Towers were hit in New York, and we all stopped to watch them tumble to the ground. It was a day I will always remember.
For a week, all sporting events stopped. America mourned and our churches were full for a month. I thought for a minute our nation would turn its back on its disobedience.
Sorry to say, we went right back to our old ways. Yes, our troops rallied, New York rebuilt, and President Bush lead our nation against terrorism.
We are losing people in the American church with a rapid exodus. Generations are being born and do not know or understand who God really is. He is a God of promises, mercy, and grace. God the Father who sent his Son to be our Savior and to make a way of redemption back to God through his Son.
How are you raising the next generation? Are you living a life of obedience?
Strength and Courage
