Matthew 2:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
We often hear from this verse, “Do wise men still seek him?” I believe that each person has to ask themselves that question. Where do I go to get wisdom? Where is the truth? Can there be peace?
This is what I believe the Magi were looking for. They were looking for a King who could bring peace to a world that seems to never have it. Those men followed a star, so it makes sense that they were probably astrologers. They kept going to find this King. The star settled over the small town of Bethlehem. Keep in mind, the Magi were Gentiles, so all nations were seeking the one who might save.
When they finally lay eyes on Jesus, they realized he was more than just the King of the Jews. Instead, they found the King of all Humanity, a Savior, and their Savior. The Lights went on inside them, and immediately went to their knees and worshipped the King of Kings.
Today is the day before Christmas. We take time as a nation to commemorate the birth of Christ. Love is born and hope has arrived. That is the essence of Christmas.
Let us observe this Christmas to go and take our families to church and participate in a night where we sing and praise. Jesus is the Truth and the Life. He once came as a baby, born of the Virgin Mary. Yet, it does not stop there. He is coming again giving the present of Heaven and Everlasting Life.
Merry Christmas, my brothers. May our hearts sing out and our lives be ever changed because Jesus came, he died, and he rose again! Amen!
Strength and Courage
