‘One of the two who heard John speak and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He *found first his own brother Simon and *said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which translated means Christ). He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is translated Peter). ‘ John 1:40-42
When Andrew first saw Jesus, he recognized immediately that He was the Messiah. Upon this revelation, his first act was to seek out his brother, Simon Peter. He had found the Lamb of God and his first inclination was to share the good news with his brother. Simon was near and dear to Andrew, so he went to him straight away to share his joy with him. What was your reaction to meeting Jesus for the first time? Did you feel compelled to seek out those who are nearest to you? Did you wish to share the good news with them? Did you share with those you love what Jesus had shown and done for you? You see… that’s it. Share, profess, PROCLAIM! We have a great deal of work to accomplish once we recognize the Lamb of God and received the overwhelming gift of grace He so freely extends to us. Seek out those you love, those near and dear to you and share. It is the single greatest gift you can offer another. You’re called to it. Have a blessed weekend.
