6 Adoni-Bezek fled, but they chased him and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and big toes.
This was one such occasion where Israel disobeyed God. They gave partial obedience. Enemy kings were supposed to be executed, not humiliated. When we understand what God tells us to do, we run great danger if the command is not carried out to the letter and spirit. Work to do as God asks you to do and obey what he says with full obedience.
