Are You Searching?
Proverbs 8:17New International Version (NIV)
17 I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
Are you searching? As men, we are usually searching for something to bring significance to our lives. We hunger in desperation to find it. We look to power, pride, sex, and so called important relationships in order to find what we are searching for. The only problem is that the deeper we go in the depravity of it, we lose ourselves.
The only true reality of finding significance is our commitment to Christ. God truly hears our cries for significance, and so he whispers those longing into our hearts. God put these longings inside us in our search for significance.
The Bible says in Psalms 2:8, ‘Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.’ This tells me I am part of his family, a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession. This is the end of our searching. The end of your searching is Christ.
