¹⁸ Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”

This past week I met with a group of men who have attended Fellowship of the Sword. This is a 5 and a half day quest chasing the Creator, Father, or Papa. In our fellowship time, one of the men had just returned from his quest, and he said, “I had a Vector Change in my life.”

Man, that his me. It was the Holy Spirit’s words directly at me. The definition of a vector is an object that has both a magnitude and a direction. Geometrically, we can picture a vector as a directed line segment whose length is the magnitude of the vector with an arrow indicating the direction.

When you have a vector change in life, a new line veers off the original direction with the same magnitude and forms a new line. This was what this man was describing when he connected to the Father. A new line and new direction was made with the same magnitude.

The disciple, Peter, had a vector change in his life after he disowned Jesus. At the Sea of Galilee, the same place Jesus called him to be a fisher of men, he had a heart change and a new direction for his life. He would no longer be lead by his own impulse. He would be lead by the Holy Spirit.

Have you experienced a ‘Vector Change’ in your life? Have you had a place where you have surrendered all of you to Jesus? Men, Vector Changes in life lead to adventure of being a true disciple in Christ, just like Peter experienced, no longer going where you want, but being lead by Christ.
