²⁴ The father of a righteous child has great joy;
    a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.

Have you ever had is said or said it yourself that your earthly father is ‘A Mountain of a Man’. That is how I see my earthly father. I am writing about him today because it is his birthday. He is 77 years old, and he still runs heavy construction equipment, pours concrete, and works hard.

My father has taught me how to work, but he also passed on to me the down to earth wisdom to always work. His greatest phrase to me was to use the KISS system – Keep It Simple Stupid. This is not to be demeaning, but it is how he lives life.

He also taught me to use the same outlook with my relationship to God. He is always telling me to take it to the ‘Big Boss’ because he will always lead you straight. 

I feel like my father is ‘A Mountain of a Man’. You will not see his name up in lights, but if you ask most people, they would say he is a hard working man, his word is his word, he worked hard to love his wife and family, and he loves Jesus. No doubt my father has made mistakes and he has flaws, but he does not allow them to beat him. In his darkest hour, he turned his eyes to Jesus. 

I am thankful that my father is still alive, and I am proud that he is my father.
