17 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.

God let Abram know that he was God Almighty, El-Shaddai. He asked Abram to serve him and live a blameless life. This message is still very viable for our lives today. God is God Almighty. You are to live a blameless life. We are to obey God in every way. Be still and know that he is God. Because God is God, that is reason enough to obey and live blameless. The benefits are very worth doing this. God is the only one who is able to meet your every need.
