11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.
God performed a miracle by turning Aaron’s staff into a serpent, and Pharaoh’s magicians did the same, but they uses trickery or sorcery. Miracles can help us believe, but it is dangerous to rely on them alone. Satan can imitate some parts of God’s work and lead people astray. Pharaoh focused on the miracle rather than the message. You can avoid this error by letting the Word of God be the basis of your faith. No miracle from God would be contrary to the teaching of his Word. Test all things with God’s Word.
