Proverbs 21:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit
as surely as haste leads to poverty.
Marriage goals are important. Often times, as men, we set goals for ourselves like financial, fitness, and spiritual. They help us to find that end result. We get committed to the and place most of our focus on that goal.
Now here is something I want us to look at today. I want us to look at setting goals for our marriages. If we do not have clear goals in marriage it will become average and simply ordinary. Let’s look at 4 marriage goals every man needs to make with his wife.
- Financial Goal – Sometimes as couples we acquire debt or credit card debt. Make a plan to stop or slow down the use of those credit cards. Learn to save for those family vacations. Set a financial plan for retirement. Spend less on entertainment and prepare for those rainy days.
- Relationship Goal – Create date nights. Plan them out. Make them un and special. It could just going out to the local coffee shop and engaging in conversation with each other. If you are in a challenging place in your marriage, get counseling help. Work through it to gain back understanding.
- Parenting Goal – Work together in parenting challenges together. Spend uninterrupted time with kids or grandkids. Be committed to family meals around the table. Work together and disciple your children.
- Spiritual Goal – Cultivate time and set goals in your faith. Spend time praying with each other. Discuss what you are learning in God’s Word.
Men, marriage goals are as important as personal goals. Lead your wife in all four areas and see how God works in your marriage.
Strength and Courage
