11 Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
The Bible connects love and reverence for the Lord with obedience. David was saying that a person who fears the Lord (loves and respects) does good and works for peace. How are you speaking to others and treating others? When you speak to others with love and respect, you are showing this attitude toward the Lord. God wants you to treat others with compassion and care. Your life journey with God includes obedience in the way you speak and the way you treat others. Do good and work for peace.
