Psalm 3
A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.
1 Lord, how many are my foes!
How many rise up against me!
2 Many are saying of me,
“God will not deliver him.”
David was surrounded by as many as 10,000 soldiers. His enemies were actively seeking to harm him. David could have trusted his army to defeat his son, Abasalom, who was after David’s kingdom. David did something better in this situation. He chose to depend on God’s mercy. David was at peace with whatever the outcome. He over came his fear by trusting God in his darkest hour. Have you had a dark hour? What did you do? God is there for you all the time. Know that he is there for you in the good times and the dark times. Go to him first, and he will help you.
