‘fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ‘ Hebrews 12:2
I’ve been thinking a great deal on faith this week. I’ve been blessed very strongly with the spiritual gift of faith and I thank God often for that, as I am very much a “seeing is believing” type. Faith is an interesting concept to grasp, as Paul says in Hebrews 11:1,’Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. ‘ God, of course knowing the bents I would exhibit, saved me from the anguish of seeking to verify His existence through empirical evidence, and saw fit to graciously bless me with the faith necessary to embrace Him and carry that knowledge to others.
As I have thought on what faith is and what it would it accomplish, I am reminded that no matter how deep or great our faith is, salvation lies not in that faith, but rather Christ, the person in whom faith trusts. Read that again. That knowledge is found so eloquently stated by Paul in Hebrews 12:2. Let us not forget that and Lord I pray that you will remind me daily, keeping that knowledge ever in the forefront of my heart and mind. Have a blessed weekend.
