“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.”—2 Corinthians 4:6
Have you ever been shocked when someone you knew not to be of faith had become a Christian. Maybe the private life was characterized by drinking and cheating. But later in life, this person discovered the reality of faith in Jesus. As a result, everything changed. Describing the transformation, we know the reality of sinful nature. We have struggles with the flesh. We know there are people who criticize Christianity because of things done in the name of the faith. We do not have every answer. We simply know the reality that Jesus changes lives. Believers can still have “a skeptical mind” and struggle with a sin, but we can know with certainty that “Jesus’ saving grace” is real and belief in Him will change a life. Remember that people all around are looking at you to see if Jesus is real. Seek to be a pure vessel through whom God’s light can shine. The world is full of people who need the light. Commit your life and resources to bring the Gospel to those living in darkness.
Reflection Question: How can you practically be a beacon of light in this dark world?
