Scripture:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:2
Lesson:
Insanity has been described as “doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result each time.” Sanity has been defined as “making decisions based on the truth.” Here are some gifts we will receive when we believe Jesus has the power to restore us to SANITY.
S: Strength
Jesus Christ is our Higher Power! He desires a relationship with us.
A: Acceptance
We learn to have realistic expectations of ourselves and others.
N: New Life
We can find healing from our past, and do not have to live by our old ways any longer.
I: Integrity
We begin to follow through on our promises. Our walk matches our talk.
T: Trust
We begin to trust relationships with Jesus and others.
Y: Your Higher Power, Jesus Christ, Loves You Just The Way You Are!
No matter what shape your life is in today, together God and you can handle it!
Life Application:
When we surrender to Jesus Christ and are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are given the fruits of the Spirit in our lives. These fruits bring peace, joy, self-control, and many other wonderful attributes that take us off the “crazy train” and deliver us into a life that can only be had through a true relationship with our Lord and Savior. We must first surrender our hurts, habits, and hang-ups to Him and trust in Him and not lean on our own understanding. Only then will we receive the full blessings of the Holy Spirit.
