Men – tonight is our last session with Louie Giglio’s book “Don’t Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table.” Again … the invitation is open to all men to join our group tonight between 7:00-8:00p at the Pella Well (419 E. Oskaloosa Street). Tonight’s topic is … In The Presence Of Our Enemies. Many of you will recognize this topic comes from Psalm 23:5. I appreciate reading Bible verses in various translations to get additional perspective. Check out this verse in The Message: You serve me a six-course dinner right in front of my enemies. You revive my drooping head; my cup brims with blessing.
Louie notes on the front end of the Session 6 video that this session asks perhaps the MOST important question of this class … Why is the table in the presence of our enemies? I’m NOT going to answer that question now because I want you to show up at our group tonight! Tonight’s insights are well worth the hour away from the rest of life to process Louie’s insights.
We’ve referenced various verses and daily affirmations over the past weeks that help us keep the Enemy away from our table and keep us focused on communing with God. I’m going to share an affirmation my friend Vince reads on a regular basis:
This is my Bible. I am what it says I am. I have what it says I have. I can do what it says I can do. Today I will be taught the Word of God. I boldly confess my mind is alert; my heart is receptive. I am about to receive the incorruptible, the ever-living seed of the Word of God. I will never be the same. Never, never, never. I will never be the same in Jesus name. AMEN!!!
Men – let’s remain committed to staying in God’s presence. Reciting Scripture. Calling out the Enemy when he speaks lies. Claiming the Holy Spirit’s POWER out of the victory of Jesus on the cross and thru the grave.
