Scripture:
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25
Lesson:
Here are 4 major areas where people can get stuck during their recovery.
1. You have not completely worked the previous principle
Perhaps you are trying to move through each step/principle too fast. Give God time to work! This is a journey that we take one day at a time.
2. You have not completely surrendered your life and your will to the Lord
Are you trusting Jesus with the “big” things, but still think you can handle the “small” things? Give everything to Him, and He will direct you in the right direction.
3. You have not accepted Jesus’ work on the cross for your forgiveness
You may have forgiven others, but have you forgiven yourself? Your sin is NOT too big to be forgiven. Jesus is waiting for you with open arms!
4. You really have not forgiven others who have harmed you
You must “let go” of the pain of past harm and abuse. You will not be able to move forward until you release it and forgive it. Until then, it will continue to hold you as its prisoner.
Application:
I am going to be honest, this is a hard lesson. I see more people struggling with this than I care to admit. But take heart, scripture tells us a righteous
man falls seven times and continues to get back up. The key word here is righteous. As long as we keep getting back up and seeking a relationship with our Lord and Savior then we are still on the right track. Christ has never left our side. His love for us is not dependent on our feelings and emotions. His power is made perfect in our weakness! So no mater where you are in your walk with Jesus just know that he is right there with the Holy Spirit ready to put you right back on his solid ground. SO LETS GOOO!!! JEEEESSSSUUUSSS!!💪
