Scripture:
“Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” James 5:16
Lesson:
There are three main reasons we need to admit our wrongs to another person.
Why Admit My Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits?
We gain healing that the Bible promises. Sharing our secret hurts, struggles, and failures with one another is part of God’s plan for our healing process. We gain freedom from the chains that have bound us up and made us unable to move in all our relationships. We gain support from someone who will listen and not try to fix you!
How Do I Choose Someone?
Choose someone of the same gender. Ask your sponsor, accountability partner, or someone you trust. Set up an appointment with the person, a time without interruptions.
Life Application:
As we talked about before, releasing our shame to God is what truly sets us free. Admitting our sins to someone we trust allows us to begin the healing process. We can not fulfill our true purpose in our new life in Christ if we have not healed from our past. Also, admitting the things we have done is our testimony, and sharing our testimony is where God’s power will begin to shine through in your life. So come out of the dark and live free in the light, men! JEEEESSSSUUUSSSS!!!!
