Genesis 5:3-5 New International Version (NIV)
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 5 Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.
We are all related going clear back to Adam and Eve. We all share a family with one flesh and blood. Remember this if prejudice enters your mind or if hatred may enter your feelings. Every person is valuable to God, and every person is a unique creation of God. Here is a question. How did these people live so long? The human race was more genetically pure in the early time with less disease to shorten life span. Also, there was no such thing as rain, yet. There was an expanse of ‘the waters of the heavens’ that kept out harmful cosmic rays. This shielded people from the environmental factors that cause aging to speed up. Finally, God gave people longer lives so they had time to ‘fill the earth’.
