Nehemiah 4:21-23New International Version (NIV)
21 So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out. 22 At that time I also said to the people, “Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and as workers by day.” 23 Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water.
Dear Father, I will continue to keep in your Word. I will hunker down in your shadow, for when I am in your care, I know I am in your hands. I will be fortified by your Word. I am strengthened by your Word. Through you, Lord is peace, life, and joy. There is peace, life, and joy in good and bad times. When you are for me, no one can come against me. Your Word keeps me alert and supported to the very core of my soul. Thank you. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
