Numbers 8:1-2
The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to Aaron and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lamp stand.’”
Be a Light in the World
God instructed Aaron, “When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lamp stand.” Light represents thought and knowledge, just like a lightbulb in cartoons. But it’s true in every language on earth. When we speak of “illuminating” a subject, we mean explaining or expanding our knowledge of it. The mission of God’s people is not merely to share knowledge or inform. When we spread light to dark places, our job is to elevate the world. Our mission to be salt and light.
