Numbers 14:22 New International Version (NIV)
22 not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—
God was not exaggerating when he said that the Israelites had again and again failed to trust and obey. They had many failures. When crossing the Red Sea, they lacked trust. They complained in Marah that the water was bitter. When going through the wilderness at Sin, they again complained. There were many who tried to collect more manna than the daily quota. There were even those who tried to collect manna on the Sabbath. Again, complaining about lack of water in Rephidim. To top it off, they brought back idol worship with a golden calf. Followed by more complaining in Taberah, then complaining about food and it not being delicious enough. Finally, they did not trust God and enter the Promised Land. All this demonstrates God’s patience, love, and mercy. Have you ever just been very negative? Have you been a complainer with your cup half empty? Stop yourself. Trust God. Always look to the positive and be grateful for provision. Thank God daily to let him know you appreciate him. Tell him you love him daily.
