A blessing is one way to ask God for favor to rest upon others. A blessing has 5 parts: bless and protect, be pleased, be merciful, show favor, and give peace. When you ask God to bless others or yourself, you are asking him to do these five things. When you offer a blessing to another, you are demonstrating love, encouragement, and care.
