Genesis 13:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt. (This was before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.) 11 So Lot chose for himself the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east. The two men parted company:
Our character can be revealed in our choices. Lot’s character was revealed by his choices. He took the best land. He chose to live near a city known for its sin. He was greedy and wanted the best for himself. He did not think of his uncle, Abram. He chose not to be fair. Life puts choices in front of us. You can choose. You can choose to consider the needs and feeling of others, or you can choose to ignore. When you choose to consider the needs and feelings of others, you make choices in God’s direction. When you make choices in God’s direction, you make choices in the right direction. What kinds of choices have you been making? Do you need to make some changes in your life’s choices? Remember, your choices reflect your heart and character. Choose to make choices in God’s direction. You cannot go wrong.
