15 The princes of Issachar were with Deborah;
yes, Issachar was with Barak,
sent under his command into the valley.
In the districts of Reuben
there was much searching of heart.
16 Why did you stay among the sheep pens
to hear the whistling for the flocks?
In the districts of Reuben
there was much searching of heart.
17 Gilead stayed beyond the Jordan.
And Dan, why did he linger by the ships?
Asher remained on the coast
and stayed in his coves.
The four tribes of Reuben, Gilead, Dan, and Asher lacked commitment to God’s plan. They had a weak faith in God’s power. There may be times we have a lack of reliance on God for help. In this there can be a lack of effort on our part. You do have to make steps to move to have change in your life. You add to this a fear of the enemy, whatever that may be. It could be a fear of solving a problem, changing jobs, dealing with a relationship, or an addiction. It is important to obey God, be committed to God’s plan, and have faith in God’s power. Look to God for your strength and courage. Take the steps needed to move in the right direction and trust God’s power in your life. Commit to God.
