Scripture:
“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” Proverbs 28:13

Lesson:
After writing an inventory, we must deal with what we have written. The first way we do that is to CONFESS our sins to God.

C: Confess your Shortcomings, Resentments, and Sins
God already knows all of our resentments, shortcomings, and sins. Confession is just us telling Him we know them too.

O: Obey God’s Direction
Confess to God and share them with another person you trust.

N: No More Guilt
We can begin to restore our confidence and our relationships so we can move on from the past.

F: Fact the Truth
Recovery requires honesty! We can allow the light of God’s truth to heal our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.

E: Ease the Pain
When we share our deepest secrets, we divide the pain and the shame. We begin to see a healthy self-worth develop that is based on Jesus Christ’s standards, not the world’s standards.

S: Stop the Blame
We cannot find peace and serenity if we continue to blame ourselves or others.

S: Start Accepting God’s Forgiveness
Once we accept God’s forgiveness, we can look others in the eye.

Life Application:
Confession focuses on moving from isolation toward healing through honest transparency. This is not meant to dwell on the past, but to clear a path for the future God has prepared, allowing you to look others in the eye with renewed confidence and self-worth. This week, share your struggles with your sponsor/accountability partner. This will allow you to begin to release the weight of past guilt and hidden secrets.
