5 when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
The system of sacrifices could not help the sinner unless the person brought his offering with an attitude of repentance and willingness to confess sin. Because of Christ’s death on the cross, we do not have to sacrifice animals today. It is still vital to confess sin out loud in a genuine confession. Realize sin, be aware of God’s holiness, have humility before God, and have a willingness to turn from the sin. Jesus death on the cross is valuable to you if you repent and follow him. It is like a vaccine for a dangerous disease, it will not help you unless it enters the bloodstream.
