2 Kings 1:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’
Elijah was a man who had a lot of confrontation with King Ahab and his son, Ahazaih. These were men who knew God’s law, yet they refused to obey. It cost them both their lives and eternity away from the Father.
Confronting another brother is not easy, and it takes obedience with a loving heart. Matthew 18:15-20 gives us a good guide line in confronting another man who is walking in sin. The hardest part is the first step.
When you bring another person back from sin, and they listen to you. You have won them over. They are now back in right standing before Christ and with you.
We all too often want to run from confrontation. It is usually tough to do and unpleasant. Yet, if the Holy Spirit moves us to speak with another, then it is a call to obedience.
Without a doubt according to God’s Word, we will always have truth that will come out. Maybe today, you have seen or witnessed sin in another brother. A true friend will be obedient and step into the moment. Be willing to confront an issue and walk in obedience in the process.
