“Control”

by | Aug 16, 2019 | Vital Men Devotions

John 16:33 (NASB) ‘These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

Try as we may to manufacture our own peace, there is only one source for peace.  The truth is, when we try to seize “control” of our circumstance, it’s an illusion.  We can try to hedge our situation against distress, protect against hardship, but ultimately it all rests with God.  Our responsibility resides in honing our ability to pilot our way through the choices we make in dealing with those circumstances.  However, even that is dependent on our willingness to lean on God for the tools and training to navigate life’s obstacles will skill and precision.

Where in your life do you struggle trying to maintain “control” instead of leaving it in God’s hands?  Where do you rest soundly in the Lord’s peace and where do you not?  Have a blessed weekend.
