Psalm 45:6-7 “…Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness, uprightness, and right standing with God and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows…”
Kings and Queens come and go. They die and the crown goes to the next in line, and so on. But God’s throne is forever—it is an eternal kingdom. It is also a kingdom of righteousness. God hates unrighteousness. When there is unrighteousness and corruption at the top level, kingdoms and nations can fall—eventually!
These verses here have been referred to Jesus in Hebrews 1: 8-9. Jesus has made it possible for us to come into His kingdom through faith in Him. And He clothes us with His righteousness. We can enjoy eternity in an eternal kingdom with Jesus. To this there is no end!
God’s throne has been eternally established. It will not fall, for His kingdom is righteous.
