13 And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.”
14 So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them.
The Israelites were eager to enter the Promised Land, conquer nations, and live in peace. First, they had to cross the Jordan River, and it was flooded. God gave them specific instructions on how to cross the river. The priests had to step into the water first. Have you ever been given instructions that you do not fully understand? Have you had trust issues when you do not know what you are being asked to do? What if the priests had been afraid and did not step into the water first? Many times, God does not provide a solution to a problem that we can understand at first. You have to trust God and move ahead with what you know you should do. In obedience to God, take that step and watch him work things out for your good.
