Genesis 5:1 New International Version (NIV)
From Adam to Noah
5 This is the written account of Adam’s family line.
When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.
You can read in the Bible Genesis 5:1-32. Here you will get a full account of the genealogies from Adam to Noah with his sons. The genealogies are not meant to be exhaustive or redundant, and they may only include the heads of families, but the genealogies are very important. This is how the Hebrews passed on their beliefs and traditions. The genealogies give an outline that help us to remember. They preserve family tradition. The genealogies confirm the Bible’s promise that the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, would be born into the line of Abraham. The genealogies point out that individual people are important to God. God refers to us by name. The focus of God’s attention and love is on each individual, and that includes YOU!
