26 and she said to him, “Pardon me, my lord. As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. 27 I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. 28 So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.
Hannah gave up what she wanted most to do what she promised. She dedicated her son to God because Samuel’s life was from God. She was returning Samuel to God. Hannah had asked God to give her a child, and he granted her request. She gave Samuel back to the Lord to belong to the Lord his whole life. She was dedicating him to the Lord for a lifetime of service. She did not forget her much wanted son. She visited him regularly, and each year she brought him a robe like Eli’s. Later in life. Hannah was thankful for the blessing of her son. Later in life, Samuel lived in Ramah which was his parent’s hometown. Hannah was part of her son’s life. Look at the blessings God has given to you and take time to thank him for those blessings. You will find that your life is full of them.
