16 Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: at the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles. No one should appear before the Lord empty-handed: 17 Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you.
Three times a year every man was to make the journey to a sanctuary city. There would be a festival where each participant was encouraged to give what he could in proportion to what God had given to him. God does not expect you to give more than you can. You will be blessed when you give cheerfully. God loves a cheerful giver. What are you giving back to God? Remember that everything you have is from God, so look at what you have and give in proportion to what you have been given.
