Psalm 115:1New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 115
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us
but to your name be the glory,
because of your love and faithfulness.
Alabama wins its 5th national with coach Nick Saban. It was a comeback night victory. Trailing 13-0 at the half, Coach Saban makes a quarterback change from a seasoned quarterback to a true freshman Tua Tagovailoa.
This young man lands the Crimson Tide to an overtime victor of 26-23. He sat on the bench all season, yet he makes ready for the moment. Coach Saban calls both quarterbacks together and makes a change. The moment is for young Tagovailia. He gets sacked toward the end of the game for 16 yards. The next play, he throws a 51 yard strike for a touchdown.
At the end of the OT win, Tua gets asked this question, “Do you have a sense of what it is that you and your guys just accomplished?” This was his response, “I just thank God I was put in a place and position that I am in now.” God gets the glory!
You see men, when we are placed in moments and we are ready in the moment, God uses us. Young Tua was a hidden player from Hawaii, yet God had a plan. In that moment, he saw great things.
Most of us will never see national titles or have our name in the news. Yet, we are all given moments. Are you ready for your moment? Stay the course in your devotional time in the Word and in prayer. It is in the day by day that makes us ready. When we are ready, God gets the glory!
