Job 6:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
8 “Oh, that I might have my request,
that God would grant what I hope for,
9 that God would be willing to crush me,
to let loose his hand and cut off my life!
In Job’s grief, he wanted to give up. He wanted to get out of his pain. He wanted to die. God did not grant Job’s request. God had greater plans for Job. Our tendency is like Job’s. You may want to give up and get out when things get painful or bad. If you wait on God and trust him in the hard times, this will test your limits and exercise your faith. In your struggles, trust that God is in control, and that he will take care of you.
