1 Samuel 2:29-30New International Version (NIV)
29 Why do you scorn my sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for my dwelling? Why do you honor your sons more than me by fattening yourselves on the choice parts of every offering made by my people Israel?’
30 “Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares: ‘I promised that members of your family would minister before me forever.’ But now the Lord declares: ‘Far be it from me! Those who honor me I will honor, but those who despise me will be disdained.
Dear Lord, May I keep to your narrow path. May I not put other gods before you. May I share with others in need. May I have honoring and godly actions toward others. I do not want to be dishonoring to you, Lord. I do not want to be greedy or unkind. I want to honor you, Lord. Help me to see and know quickly when I am not acting in a way that is pleasing to you, Lord. Forgive me when I make mistakes, and help me to change my ways as I learn and grow. In Jesus’ Name I Pray, Amen.
