1 In you, Lord my God,
I put my trust.
2 I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
An enemy is someone who opposes God and you, as a believer. Things can also be enemies to us like, lust, the love of money, prestige, success. Our greatest enemy is Satan. It is important to pray to God to keep the enemies from overcoming you because they oppose what God stands for. God will triumph, but in this Psalm, David did not want the success of enemies to be an obstacle to the faith of others. We know that God is in control, and he is working out his plans at this very moment. Remember that when bad things do happen, God is working everything out for the good of those who love him. God knows who belongs to him. So the next time something bad happens, you may think is is bad, but wait and watch to see who God works it for your good because you love him.
