Numbers 25:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
10 The Lord said to Moses, 11 “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal.
Some anger is proper and justified. How can we know when our anger is appropriate and when it should be restrained. Here are some things to ask yourself when you get angry or before this happens. Why am I angry? Whose rights are being violated? Mine or someone else’s? Is a principle of God being violated? If you are becoming more like God, sin should anger you.
