Head God’s Direction

Exodus 14:15-18 New International Version (NIV)

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. 16 Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground. 17 I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them. And I will gain glory through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. 18 The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I gain glory through Pharaoh, his chariots and his horsemen.”

Moses was doing the right thing by praying to God for help. Then God told Moses to stop praying and to get moving! Prayer has a vital place in our lives. After praying, there is a place for action. Listen for God’s direction. There are times you know what to do, but you pray for more guidance. Be careful not to make prayer an excuse for postponing what you should be doing. Have you ever put off doing what you know God is directing you to do? Is there an open door of opportunity that you are hesitating in stepping through? If you know what it right and what you should do, then it is time to get moving. Always test your direction with God’s Word. He will never condone sin choices. He wants the best for you.
