Genesis 1:3 New International Version (NIV)
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
How long did it take God to create the world? There are two basic views about how many days it took to create. One is that each day is a literal 24 hour time period. The other view is that each day represents an indefinite time period and could be millions of years. We know the Bible does not say how long these days were. God did create the world in an orderly way, and he created man and woman to be unique and able to communicate with him. We get to claim this remarkable privilege. So, it really is not so important as to how long it took, but that God did create it just they way he wanted and planned.
