11 Now leave at once and go home! I said I would reward you handsomely, but the Lord has kept you from being rewarded.”
Balaam’s motives were not right, but he did act with integrity. He was so filled with God’s message that he spoke the truth. Because he did speak the truth, he did not get the reward that had lured him in the first place. It is important to stay true to God’s Word even if it may cost a promotion or an advantage in the short run. In the long run, those who choose God over money will one day acquire heavenly wealth beyond measure.
