Luke 11:1 NIV One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.”
This scene of Jesus sharing the Lord’s Prayer was shown in Episode 7 of Season 2 of The Chosen. Jesus’ response to John’s question in that dramatization grabbed my attention. Jesus said, “Now you are behaving like true students. This is what I like to see.” Jesus smiled and showed a sense of satisfaction and contentment.
Jesus values our curiosity. He loves to see our desire to learn, to grow, to understand. We are seeing more and more examples in The Chosen of how the disciples are learning from Jesus and the lessons are sticking. We are also seeing more examples of just the opposite response … the Jewish rulers who think they know it all are getting hung up on the rules and the correct ways to live life.
