Oh, boy! A message about EGO. I hear ya; that’s EXACTLY what I was thinking when I first saw these capitalized three letters in Blanchard, Hodges & Hendry’s book. Another message about pride, maybe narcissism and self-centeredness also.
Here’s what they meant by EGO … are we Edging God Out or are we Exalting God Only? Great question. It’s one or the other with multiple decisions we make from day to day. Make that hundreds of daily decisions. Then pile on top of that all of the subtle and direct messages of our culture that promote one’s self.
How are you resetting yourself to Exalt God Only? Do you catch yourself? Or does it take your spouse or your friend or co-worker to remind you?

Jesus taught the disciples and His followers that great leadership is a matter of the heart. Are we growing in our love of God and others? Are others seeing more fruits of the Spirit in our lives? Is God being exalted in our speaking, our working, our living?
