Ken Blanchard, Phil Hodges and Phyllis Hendry in Chapter 5 (A Transformational Journey That Begins on the Inside) of “Lead Like Jesus” identify that we lead others as we develop relationships with them. People will increasingly trust us as we build relational equity with them.
Jesus’ disciples were transformed as they daily walked with Him and did life with Him over three years. The disciples grew in their trust of Jesus and His leading. This day by day relationship nurtured, grew and refined the disciples. It transformed them; they developed a willingness to do what Jesus commanded with a heart surrendered to do His will and a commitment to lead as Jesus led. This transformational development is the same with us as we are Jesus’ apprentices.
Matthew 4:19 (NIV): “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
Men – I have some questions for us to ponder … Are we daily walking in the Jesus way? Are we loving others (family, friends, coworkers) like Jesus loved people? Are we consistently growing in our character as the Holy Spirit transforms us?
I am so excited to do life with you, my Vital Men brothers. Revival is happening in our time as we follow the Jesus way and lead like Jesus did by loving others and growing in relationship with them.
