13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”
There were three people who made serious mistakes. First, Sarai took matters into her own hands by giving her servant to Abram. She was sure she was too old to have children, and she did not wait on God to come through with his promise to Abram. Then, Abram made a mistake and went along with Sarai’s idea. After, when things started to go wrong between Sarai and Hagar, he did nothing to solve the problems. Finally, Hagar ran away from the situation. After all that, God showed his ability to take the mess that was made and work all things out for good. Abram and Sarai still received their promised son, and God took care of Hagar and her son. There are still consequences to our choices, and the consequences between these three people are still being carried out to this day. You can know, though, there is no problem too complicated for God if you are willing to let him help you.
