2 Peter 1:3 For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
God has called us to have a relationship with Him, and through our personal knowledge and acceptance of Him, we have everything necessary to live a dynamic spiritual life in godliness.
The dictionary defines “bestowed” as: lavished, confer, entrust, grant. God has generously lavished on us absolutely everything we need to live life for Him. We do not lack anything! Ephesians 1:3 says, “Blessed and worthy of praise be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ.” He has bestowed on us everything we need to live for Him and has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
Living a godly life is highly possible, because God instils godliness in us as we walk with Him—as we choose Him over our flesh. We don’t do this alone! God never leaves us fending for ourselves, floundering in waters that go well over our heads.
He also doesn’t call us without supplying what we need for the job, be it: skills, people, the tools needed for the job, finances etc….Somehow it all seems to come together, because God is in it and He equips us with everything needed to live for Him and to serve Him.
