Hebrews 6:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Making a difference is something I believe most of us desire in life. We want to know that our lived counted for something, and not to just take up space.
I was able to go in recent days to a hidden work place in the small town of Leighton, Iowa. It is a place where retired men work to finish their days of ‘Making a Difference’. The place I went to is called Mobility Worldwide. Here they build carts for people who are disabled and have use of only their arms.
I want to share with you today their mission statement: To reflect the love of Jesus by bringing mobility and dignity to in developing countries who are unable to walk and to provide the opportunity for meaningful work for volunteers.
The carts they make go around the world to third world countries helping those with disabilities, giving them hope, purpose, and showing the love of Christ by building carts.
These men have chosen not to just sit home, but they have chosen to make a difference. If you go and talk with these men, all of them give the glory back to Jesus. Some of these men were in their 90’s.
We had a chance before we left to pray a blessing over them and the work they did. I could hardly hold the tears as the men of strength and courage still continue to live life in the fullest and make a difference.
